"Our biggest asset is our people" is a statement used in many corporate presentations. It is often used because it is recognised as a fundamental truth - the difference between the successful and the mediocre business is dependent on the quality of its people!
At the risk of continuing with the clichéd, another fundamental truth is that "People are only human" and as humans, we are a complex package of skills and talents, emotions and energy levels that change considerably according to the environment or situation that we are in.
